Lake of Bolsena

On the Lake of Bolsena there are several resorts offering nature oriented turism, such as “Agriturismo” and Bed & Breakfast; among those, the BB Al Porto.

The Lake of Bolsena is in the province of Viterbo, namely on the north area called Alta Tuscia. It is not far from the Mount Amiata. The lake is considered the lasgest volcanic lake in Europe.

Along its coast you can find quiet and peaceful shores to relax and fish, but also fields, gardens, olive and vine yards.

The Lake of Bolsena claims a nearly incontaminated natural environment and is one of the few large lakes in Italy 100% suitable for bathing.

There are many species of fish such as perch, black bass, pike, carp, tench, whitebite and the famous eel that caused the condemn of Pope Martin IV to Purgatory in the Divine Comedy.
